Frequently asked questions

How much does pet sitting cost?
US pet sitting averages $20 to $28 for a 20-minute drop-in, $25 to $35 for 30 minutes, and $40 to $55 for a 60-minute visit. Overnight in-home sitting runs $50 to $80 flat per day. Multi-pet households add $5 to $8 per additional pet.
Pet sitter or boarding, which is better?
In-home pet sitting keeps your pet in its own environment, which is lower stress and usually cheaper for cats and multi-pet households. Boarding suits trips of 7 or more days, or pets that should not be alone overnight.
How many visits per day does my pet need?
Dogs typically need 2 to 3 visits per day. Cats need 1 visit per day, or 2 for senior cats, medication-dependent cats, or multi-cat households. Small animals usually need 1 visit per day.
Can sitters give medications?
Yes. Oral pills, liquid medication, topical applications, and subcutaneous insulin injections are all standard. Tell us at intake, and we match a sitter experienced with your pet's specific needs.
How are sitters vetted?
Every sitter passes a national criminal background check, an in-person interview, pet first-aid awareness, and provides at least five verifiable client references. Active sitters carry a $1M liability policy.
What if my sitter is sick?
A vetted backup sitter, already introduced to your pet through the meet-and-greet, takes over. You are notified before any swap so there is no surprise.
Do you handle exotic pets?
Yes. Reptiles, birds, rabbits, and guinea pigs are covered by sitters experienced with that species. Specialized pets get an extended meet-and-greet to confirm sitter comfort first.
What is included in a standard visit?
Feeding, fresh water, litter scooping or a potty break, 5 to 10 minutes of play, medication if needed, a brief house check, and a photo plus note update sent to you.
Do you offer overnight pet sitting?
Yes. An overnight sitter stays at your home from evening to morning at a flat daily rate, which is often cheaper than boarding for multi-pet households and far lower stress for the pets.
How far ahead should I book?
We match a vetted sitter within 24 hours for standard requests. For holiday-period coverage, book 60 to 90 days ahead since sitter demand peaks.
