Omni Hotels and Resorts does not publish one pet policy for the whole chain, but every Omni hotel we checked accepts pets. The usual pattern at Omni city hotels is one dog or cat up to 25 pounds, a valid credit card on file, and a non-refundable cleaning fee of USD 125 to USD 175 charged once per stay, per room. Omni resorts are more generous with size, often taking dogs up to 50 or 60 pounds, but some take dogs only, limit you to one dog or restrict pets to certain wings. A few Omni hotels allow larger pets, and one resort has a breed list.
This guide is built from the Pet Policy section on each Omni hotel's policies page at omnihotels.com, read in October 2026. We checked the policies of about 50 Omni hotels and resorts in the US, Canada and Mexico. Each hotel sets its own rules and they change, so read the policies page for your hotel before you book.

The standard Omni city hotel policy
Most Omni city hotels use almost the same wording. Omni Dallas is typical: it is a pet-friendly hotel, guests must have a valid credit card on their reservation, the pet must weigh no more than 25 pounds, and a non-refundable cleaning fee of USD 125 is charged per stay, per room, not per pet. One pet is allowed per room, and guests planning to bring two or more must contact the hotel to discuss it. Only dogs and cats are allowed.
The same shape appears at Omni hotels in Houston, Louisville, Oklahoma City, Atlanta at The Battery, Nashville, Austin Downtown, Las Colinas, Charlotte, Fort Worth, Indianapolis, Chicago, Pittsburgh and Boston's Parker House, all with a 25 pound limit and a USD 125 fee. A few city hotels charge USD 150, including Omni Atlanta at Centennial Park, Omni Frisco at The Star, Omni Royal Orleans, Omni Richmond and Omni Tempe at ASU, and Omni Berkshire Place in New York charges USD 175.
Common rules at the city hotels include:
- Sign a document accepting financial responsibility for any damage.
- Put your pet in a carrier when housekeeping, minibar staff or engineering enter the room.
- If your dog barks or causes complaints, you will be asked to remove it.
- No dangerous, wild or exotic animals.
- Pets stay out of pools and restaurants.
Omni hotels that allow bigger pets
The 25 pound limit rules out most medium and large dogs, but several Omni hotels set higher limits. Omni Interlocken near Denver accepts dogs up to 70 pounds. Omni Providence, Omni New Haven at Yale, Omni Corpus Christi, Mokara Hotel and Spa and Omni La Mansion del Rio in San Antonio accept pets up to 50 pounds. Omni San Francisco takes dogs up to 50 pounds. Omni Boston at the Seaport says it welcomes medium size pets. Omni Toronto's King Edward allows pets up to 40 pounds. If you have a dog over 25 pounds, these are the city hotels to look at first, and the resorts below are generally even more relaxed about size.
Omni resorts: bigger dogs, special rooms
Omni's resorts mostly accept larger dogs, but often with their own conditions:
- Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville accepts two dogs up to 60 pounds each, dogs only, with limited pet rooms, for USD 350 per stay. Crated dogs can be left alone in the room.
- Omni Barton Creek in Austin, Omni PGA Frisco and Omni Fort Lauderdale accept two pets up to 60 pounds each, for USD 150, or USD 200 at Fort Lauderdale, where dogs wear a ribbon on the property.
- Omni Mount Washington in New Hampshire accepts one dog up to 60 pounds in select rooms for USD 200 per stay.
- Omni Amelia Island accepts one dog under 50 pounds, only in first floor Sunrise Wing rooms, for USD 200, with a dog walking area and a "Pet in Room" door magnet.
- Omni Hilton Head accepts one dog up to 50 pounds, no cats, by advance reservation, for USD 200.
- Omni Orlando at ChampionsGate accepts pets under 50 pounds in second floor deluxe rooms of the main building, not the villas, for USD 225 for the first pet and USD 100 for a second.
- Omni Bedford Springs in Pennsylvania accepts dogs only, in the Anderson House, for USD 200, and has a chef-designed dog menu.
- Omni Tucson National accepts two dogs under 50 pounds for USD 150, and Omni Rancho Las Palmas in Palm Springs accepts two cats or dogs up to 50 pounds for USD 150 per pet.
- Omni Scottsdale at Montelucia accepts dogs and cats up to 25 pounds for USD 150.
The Omni Homestead charges by the night
Almost every Omni charges a single cleaning fee per stay. The exception we found is The Omni Homestead in Hot Springs, Virginia, which allows two dogs per reservation, dogs only, and charges a one-time non-refundable fee of USD 200 plus USD 50 per dog per night. Dogs left alone in the room must be in a cage or carrier. For a four night stay with two dogs, that is USD 600 in pet fees, so check the maths before you book.
Omni La Costa and its breed list
Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad says it welcomes dogs of all shapes and sizes, for a one-time fee of USD 75 per reservation for up to two dogs, or USD 200 in suites and villas. That is the lowest fee in our sample for a large dog. But La Costa is the one Omni we found with a breed list: it cannot accommodate Pit bulls, Pit mixes, Dobermans, Rottweilers, Chows or Chow mixes. You also sign an acceptance of damages form on arrival.
Cats at Omni hotels
Most Omni city hotels accept dogs and cats. Several do not take cats: Omni Charlottesville, Omni Richmond and Omni San Francisco are dogs only, and most of the resorts, including Grove Park Inn, The Homestead, Amelia Island, Hilton Head, Bedford Springs and La Costa, accept dogs only. If you travel with a cat, a city hotel is your best bet. Omni Chicago, for example, accepts dogs up to 25 pounds and cats.
Two pets at an Omni
Many Omni city hotels allow one pet and ask you to call about a second. Omni Parker House and Omni Shoreham allow up to two pets, Omni Tempe allows two with a USD 50 charge for the second, and Omni San Francisco adds USD 75 per extra dog. Many resorts allow two dogs. Omni Los Angeles at California Plaza is unusual in charging its USD 125 fee per pet rather than per room.
Leaving your pet alone
Rules vary. Omni Providence says pets should not be left in the room alone under any circumstances, and Omni Fort Worth and Omni Hilton Head also say pets may not be left unattended. Others allow it with a kennel: Omni Austin Downtown asks you to present a kennel at check-in and keep the pet in it whenever unsupervised, and Omni Indianapolis requires a kennel when you are out. Grove Park Inn allows crated dogs to be left alone. If your plans include dinners or spa time without your dog, read this line carefully.
Service animals at Omni
Omni pages say service animals are exempt from the pet policy, with no weight limit or fee, and Omni Scottsdale adds that no documentation is needed. Omni Mokara and La Mansion del Rio point out that emotional support animals are not service animals under the ADA, so they fall under the pet rules. The ADA service animal rules limit hotels to two questions about a service dog. Our service dog hotel rights guide explains more.
What the cleaning fee covers
Several Omni hotels spell out what the fee is for. Omni Austin Downtown, Omni Las Colinas and Omni Nashville say it covers basic cleaning of pet hair and odor, and that additional charges for damage may be imposed. Omni Tucson National and Omni La Costa call it a fee for deep cleaning of the room on departure. In other words, the fee is not a deposit and you will not get it back, and it does not cap what you owe if your dog chews a chair or soils a carpet. Bring your own blanket for the bed, keep your dog off furniture and report any accident to the desk rather than leaving it for housekeeping.
Omni in Canada and Mexico
Omni's hotels outside the US follow the same hotel by hotel approach. The Omni King Edward in Toronto accepts pets up to 40 pounds for a USD 150 cleaning fee and says pets should not be left unattended. Hotel Omni Mont-Royal in Montreal welcomes dogs with bowls, treats and pee pads in the room, and its concierge can arrange walks and pet sitters. Omni Pontoque at Punta de Mita in Mexico accepts dogs only, up to two per room, and dogs must be registered at check-in and wear a designated identifier on the property. Crossing a border with a pet brings its own paperwork, so check entry rules before you go.
How Omni compares
Omni's one-time fee per stay makes longer stays cheaper than chains that charge by the night. But the 25 pound limit at most city hotels is tighter than Hyatt or many Marriott hotels. Luxury rivals differ too: many Four Seasons hotels charge no pet fee at all, and Fairmont hotels often accept pets of any size. If you want to avoid fees entirely, see our list of hotels with no pet fee.
How to book an Omni stay with a pet
- Open your hotel's page on omnihotels.com and go to Property Details, then Policies.
- Read the Pet Policy for weight, number, species and fee.
- Check for room restrictions, such as a pet wing or a particular floor.
- Make sure a valid credit card is on the reservation.
- Call the hotel if you have two pets or a pet over the limit.
- Present your pet at the front desk when you check in.
Questions to ask the hotel
- What is the weight limit, and is it per pet?
- Is the fee per room or per pet, and is it charged once or nightly?
- Are pets limited to certain rooms, floors or wings?
- Do you accept cats, and can my pet stay alone if crated?
- Is there a pet relief area or a nearby park?
Our guide on how to find pet-friendly hotels covers the same checks for other chains.
Common mistakes at Omni hotels
- Assuming every Omni takes a 50 pound dog because one resort did.
- Booking without a credit card on the reservation, which most Omni hotels require for pets.
- Bringing a cat to a dogs only resort.
- Forgetting the per night charge at The Omni Homestead.
- Leaving a dog loose in the room when the hotel requires a kennel.
A sample stay
Say you are visiting Nashville for three nights with a 22 pound terrier. Omni Nashville takes pets under 25 pounds for a single USD 125 cleaning fee. A hotel charging USD 50 per night would cost USD 150 for the same stay. With a 55 pound retriever, Omni Nashville is out, but Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, a four hour drive away, would take the dog for USD 350 per stay.
Before you book
At Omni, the policies page is the source of truth. Most city hotels say yes to one small pet for one fee per stay; the resorts say yes to bigger dogs with more conditions.
